Goodbyes and excitement

In a few short weeks I will embark on yet another adventure with Bob.  However, unfortunately I have to say goodbye to a lot of things as well.

Those goodbyes being, leaving Forest Grove FOREVER!!!!  When I think back to when I first moved here, I had just had Jaxon, left Canada and my family for really the first time.  I had never felt so alone in my entire life.  Those first few weeks here were hard and I remember thinking I can't wait to leave this place!  Now, I don't want to leave!  Funny how time changes things.  I have loved it here.  My family has grown here in so many ways.  I love how it is green all year round.  I love the nicer weather.  I love my running route under the BIG trees.  I love my ward.  I love that I have grown a lot here.  I love my home.  I love being able to go to the beach.  I love picking fruit.  I love just being outside here, it's beautiful.   And last but not least, I have loved the people.  They have made my time here pass by and I have met some pretty amazing ones.  Without them, I think that those looooong days would have drug on for centuries!!!  I feel very blessed to have had this experience in my life and to have been given the opportunity to meet and get to know these people.  And I guess I never knew how much I would appreciate it, until it is almost finished.

On the other hand, in a few short weeks, I will be reunited with Bob and my 3 mos. of being a single mum will end, HOLLA (which is the excitement by the way)!!!  We will move yet again and start a new adventure with the kids.  I have mixed feelings about this, but I keep telling myself that it will be fine and we will have fun there too!  I can't wait for him to be back and I know the kids can't either.  Especially a certain little boy who asks daily for his dad and will not talk to him on the phone because he says "I just want him here with me."  So I am counting the days, hours, minutes and seconds till he is home!

When I leave this lovely little place I have called home for three years, I will be leaving with fond memories, two children and a husband.  So I guess in a lot of ways, the most important things are coming with me.  Except everything that I listed above:)
And this is how I have felt about Oregon!!!!

Favorites of the week

Here are a few of my favorite pictures of this last week with the kids.

We found these sunglasses at Target and Risa wouldn't talk them off, so of course we had to buy them!   She wore them the rest of the afternoon.

He looks like he is sucking his thumb while he is asleep.  But he's not.  Such a tired boy.

Blowing into their trumpets or a vuvuzela (as Bob would call it)  just like their dad taught them to do, with parts from the vacuum.  Thanks Bob!

Favorite conversation of the week was one that I had with Jaxon (obviously because Risa can't talk yet). It happened while we were in church and Jaxon's good friend Maren's mum was at the pulpit speaking and said that her grandmother Maren had died and here's how the conversation went:

Jaxon: Mum, Maren died?!!!!
Me: No Maren didn't die, what are you talking about?
Jaxon: Anna said Maren died! (as he is pointing to the front of the chapel at Anna)

And then of course I had to explain to 3 year old how that was a different Maren and not the one that he knows.  Needless to say, I think that after sacrament when we saw Maren at nursery, he knew that she was just fine:)

Our week

This week we have been busy and that always makes the time go by much faster.  We went to the zoo, fed the ducks, went to the spray park, hung out with friends, went on runs and just enjoyed the beautiful weather  together.  It has been lovely here and I am enjoying the sun with the kids, hopefully it keeps up.  Fingers crossed!
Anyways here are a few pictures of what our week has been like.
Jaxon hanging with his friends at the zoo while they check out the animals

Maren and Jaxon, they held hands the majority of the time.  So cute!
And I thought that I would throw this one in of the two of them just a little over a year ago.  My how they have changed in that time!
 Anyways back to the zoo...
Risa loved the zoo too, shown here by her happy face

and here are the ducks, the kids wouldn't get out or maybe I was too scared to get them out. The ducks literally were on top of us the second we walked up and they just kept coming!

At the spray park, Risa loved every minute of it.  Jaxon did not, big surprise:)

Smile or not whatever.

Jaxon heading towards the park.  He was done with the water.
And how could we end the week, without wishing our Dad/husband a Happy Father's day!!!  I asked Jaxon to tell me a few reasons why he loved his dad and he said "because I want to."  Good enough reason I guess:) So to an amazing husband and dad, who loves us, is always there for us and makes our children so happy, we want to wish you a Happy Father's Day,  because we want to!  Love us:)

Happy Father's Day!

Risa is officially walking!!!!

Risa has started walking!!!  She took her first few steps the day before Bob left and then stopped.  She wouldn't walk, I couldn't get her to walk at all, I tried everything and she just wouldn't walk after he left.  Maybe it was because she was so heartbroken that her dad left and she just couldn't bare to walk around with him not here.  I'm not sure, but if I had to take a guess that would be it or maybe it's just me that's heartbroken and I'm the one who blames everything on that.:)  Anyways, after a couple of weeks of trying to get her to walk, she finally just starting doing it on her own.  And she hasn't stopped since that day. All she loves to do is walk around the house with her blanket in her mouth or her hands and walk.  It's pretty cute!
walking with the blanket in her hand

in the mouth, the preferred way to travel

so happy with herself!
She loves her new found freedom, it's so cute to watch her learn how to walk, I love it!

We haven't been up to too much lately considering a major person in our family is away right now, but we are keeping busy and count the days down until he comes home!  Can't wait!

we eat lunch in front of the tv topless

play hide and seek by ourselves

play with our toys at the table so a certain someone who starts with an R won't bother  us.  And yes that is soda that he had with his breakfast.  I'm such a great mum!

we lick the computer, don't ask me why.

and we check each other for lice and wear xmas pajamas in the middle of June.  Kidding about the lice, I have no idea what Risa is doing to Jaxon.
We miss Bob terribly and wish he were here with us daily.  But we will get through this time and move on to the next chapter soon. And by the look of things we are doing just fine.  Aside from the drinking soda for breakfast, eating in front of the tv and licking computers.  Just fine, right?!  Well I guess a few things have gone by the wayside but whatever:)

Risa's pierced ears

So here is a picture of Risa and her beautiful earrings.  It was difficult for me to get a good picture, because she kept doing this!
every time I tried to take one she would crawl away!

or get distracted.

so this was the best that I could do!

and another for good measure.

What we have been up to...

We haven't been up to too much lately, just a little of this and a little of that.  We have enjoyed the last few days left with our dad, before he headed back into school and that means starting rotations!!!  One year left!  So excited!
We have enjoyed walks together in our wagon, which the kids love especially Risa.
She usually looks more impressed than this on our walks:)
We have enjoyed playing dress up with our friends outside.

it was so sweet, most of them had costumes on.  And I have no idea what Jaxon is doing in the picture.

We have enjoyed picnic's outside in the beautiful weather.
eating dinner with dad outside
We have loved our blankies so much that it is hard to leave the house without them.  Shown here by Risa.
giving it one last hug before we left.
And last but no least, we decided to pierce Risa's ears.  By we I guess me, with Bob's approval of course:)
And before you judge me on whether you should do it to a baby or not, she was just fine. Barley traumatized her:)
see completely unaffected by it. Okay maybe there were a few tears shed, but other than that she was fine:)

see all better with dad holding her and with a sucker for being such a good sport.
Other than that, this is all we have been up to.  Hope everyone else had a great week!

Happy Birthday Bob!

I feel like this is the only kind of post I do lately, is a birthday one!!!  We have a lot of birthday's in a short amount of time!

Anyways, I want to wish Bob a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!  He is the best guy, he is thoughtful, considerate, caring, an amazing dad, patient (which he needs a lot of being married to me!), hard working and most of all love's us more than anything!  And this is how he spent the day... at the beach with us:)

building sandcastles together.
We love you.  Happy 27th!
