Toys, toys, toys!

So for the last two weeks or so, Jaxon has been asking me to take him to the store to buy a toy.  And of course my response to him is "how will you pay for this toy, because I am not."

And then Jaxon replies to me like this, "I will get the money from Maren (who is his 2 year old  friend) or Aunt Dim (Kim)."
Me: "Well I think that if Maren had her own money, she would buy herself a toy and you can't always get aunt Dim to buy you things and how would you get the money from her she lives in Canada."
Jaxon: "Well it's coming in the mail."

This conversation would happen more than I would have cared to have had it.  But he was still adamant that this is how he would get his toy.

Then at lunch the other day, when I was in the cupboard getting out a glass, Jaxon all of a sudden stopped and said "Mum, my money for a toy!"

I was like "What?  You mean this tin (it's a Christmas tin that holds what I thought was all of our Canadian change), you can go ahead and look at it."

So I proceeded to let him look at the tin thinking and saying to him that there wasn't any money in there that he could use to buy a toy because it was all Canadian change... But it wasn't just Canadian change in there, there actually was $7 worth of American change in that tin and let me tell you Jaxon so was excited, because he could finally get his toy.  I mean I couldn't say no after he counted it (with his dad's help of course) and separated it, and I guess for a 2 year old 'worked" really hard for it.

So Jaxon's week was made and he played with those two figurines nonstop!  I guess he doesn't need anything for his birthday now:)

And this has been Risa's week

Yup that about sums up her week!

And well Bob has officially finished classes!!!!  Wahoo! Now it is just clinic left for this guy, it's so exciting we are nearing the end and we can almost see the finish line!

What makes my day

There is nothing that makes me happier then when my two year old (who is almost 3, which I can not believe by the way!)  says to me, "Mummy I wuv you more than bubble dum."  Which is a LOT, because that kid really LOVES bubble gum.  It makes my day!

It seems like yesterday this is how he would make me happy.

and now it's this!

Crazy how time flies!

A few things we have learned in the last few weeks

So I thought I would share a few things that we have learned in the last little bit.
Starting with, always beware of a father and son outing and what they might come with.

So proud of it!

Which would be a fish named "Shark".  I know it's not a big deal, but it is one more thing that I will have to take care of when Bob leaves, so we will see how long it stays with us.  Jaxon was pretty excited about it and when asked where he wanted to put it, he said outside.  After a brief discussion as to why we can't put it outside and how the fish belongs inside, Jaxon still insisted on him going outside. Eventually we settled for  him to go on the kitchen counter top where he now resides.

and yes Jaxon picked out the tank which has a dragon as the background. Pretty cool right?!

Anyways moving on. The trees here in Oregon are beautiful and I will miss them when we leave.

We have decided to tie our own shoes now and this is how we do it.

Eating food off the floor probably isn't a good idea and there is probably a good reason why someone put it there to begin with.

And last but not least, never feed your 1 year old cheerios and oatmeal squares at church in a brand new dress.  Because they will choke on it and they will puke it up all over their new dress. And if you are very lucky, you might just be able to catch most of it in your hands:) AWESOME!!

This weekend was Easter and what a fun one it was.  We had an Easter Egg Hunt, dyed Easter eggs, rolled the dyed eggs down a hill and of course the Easter Bunny came for a visit!  Jaxon and Risa had a wonderful time and they both especially enjoyed all the treats that came with it!

Jaxon had a lot of fun dying the eggs... on the other hand Risa did not and this is how much she liked it:)

After we dyed the eggs we went and rolled them down a hill, but instead of rolling it, it turned more into throwing them.  Same thing I guess.

And yes he wore his Spiderman costume and rainboots over a long shirt and pants in 20 degree Celsius weather. He wouldn't change.

The kids had a lot of fun, and so did Bob and I. However, even though it is a wonderful way to spend time together as a family, the real meaning of Easter isn't the Easter treats, the Easter Egg Hunt or the dying of the eggs.  But rather what our Savior did for us and the sacrifices that he made so that we may live the life that we do.

My favorite quote about what the Savoir did for us is this:

Risa's Birthday Party!

I didn't want to do a birthday party for Risa this year, I kept thinking about how much work it would be and how I didn't want to do it.  But then I thought I need to, she will only turn 1 once!  So it all started with the invitation.

Thanks to her dad, here is the cute invitation that he created for her.

And then I thought that we should do everything pink and simple and that's exactly what we did. From decorations to food it all had to have some pink in it.  And thanks to a friend who is crafty and has a cricket, and these two ladies...

 we were able to make some cute things for her.

Finally it was time to have dessert with friends and family to celebrate Risa's birthday!

You might be thinking this cake is green, not pink and if you are thinking that, you are correct!  We had a "disappointing"  dessert at the last minute and my sisters were so kind and went and bought a cake that Jaxon so kindly dropped on the floor right before people started to arrive.  Note to self, try the desserts before you are about to have a party if you have never had them before and keep two year old's away from  it!

I am pretty sure that Risa had a great time at her party, she can't talk yet, but I know that she thanks me for it!

Pretending that he is Superman in a costume that is two sizes too small on him.  He spent three days wearing this everywhere, a lady at Walmart recognized him because of the costume.  And lets not forget
